Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson In Talks For 'Big Trouble In Little China' Remake

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in talks for 'Big Trouble in Little China' remake

Jack Burton is a reasonable guy who experiences some very unreasonable things in the '80s hit action-adventure film "Big Trouble in Little China."
Now it seems Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be stepping into Kurt Russell's role as the dashing (but not quite debonair) truck driver who gets mixed up in a supernatural caper in San Francisco's Chinatown for the film's upcoming remake.
The reboot of John Carpenter's cult classic will be penned for 20th Century Fox by "X-Men: First Class" screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions partners Dany and Hiram Garcia, pitched the remake to 20th Century Fox, who released the original film in 1986, according to the Wrap.
Movie goers already know that Johnson can successfully lead action films into blockbuster territory, especially with his recent earthquake thriller "San Andreas" grossing $113 million in worldwide ticket sales this past weekend.
While 20th Century Fox has yet to officially confirm the news, there's also no mention if Miller and Stentz's new script will be rebooting the movie with the same plot or if the quotable Jack Burton will have to contend with new (perhaps even bigger) trouble in Little China.
Hate that the Rock may be playing Jack Burton in the remake? We have a feeling this would be his response to all the haters and angry fans.
